Chag Sameach!
I titled this blog “Don’t Worry, Be Happy – It is SUKKOT!!!” Sukkot is one of my favorite Chagim (holidays). It is described as זמן שמחתינו, (zman simchateinu) the time of Joy. For 7 days we celebrate Sukkot and “BE HAPPY”. The concept of celebrating and being happy dates back to the time of the Temple. During this season the Jews celebrated Simcha Beit Shwaiva – The Water Drawing Celebration. Everyone gathered and offered the water libation. Many believed this was to celebrate the coming of rain.
Rain is critical to sustaining life. We should all take a moment and appreciate the importance of this gift.
One of my favorite quotes: “Don’t wait for the storm to pass, learn how to dance in the rain.” (Vivian Green). Lets all turn on iTunes and start dancing! Have a wonderful Sukkot
